 Last Night’s Best Dressed: ladylike ladies On this fine Friday, we present you with a fashionable feast of hourglass silhouettes. Yep, by the looks of things, this lot have been doing their Grazia homework. If you’ve got yourself a copy of the latest issue (and if not, get yourself to a newsy sharpish!), you’ll know that, thanks to Louis Vuitton, this season there’s something hip about being a Good Girl...
First up is lovely Lily Allen looking retro cool at the launch party of the first collection by A. Sauvage at Matches last night. That full skirt on her classic cocktail frock is ideal for a fifties swing, just like Nicole Kidman’s olive number yesterday, and check out those accessories for a modern interpretation of the trend – a print-clashing Louis Vuitton scarf and that droolsome blue Celine bag. Just swell for a summer’s day!
And she’s back! This week’s leading lady, Jessica Biel vamped it up for the Berlin premiere of 'The A-Team’ yesterday (is this promo tour never-ending?!). Her curve-hugging powder blue sparkler from Atelier Versace is covered entirely in intricate beading to really accent her figure, Beyonce stylie. A pair of Sergio Rossi satin slingbacks and a subtle red lip are all that’s needed to complete the pizzazz.
We’re also taking style inspiration from Sophie Ellis Bextor who was aptly demonstrating her own take on feminine floatiness at the Goodwood Races yesterday. Soft in both colour and cut, her chiffon dress is terribly romantic, but with a few black adornments to add some punch, the overall effect is very pleasing. See - it's easy peasy!
In contrast to all those lovely ladies, we finish with their androgynous counterpart - Heidi Klum. Attending the 'Project Runway' season eight premiere, the super-duper model won our hearts with this fancy-schmancy tailored ensemble. Indeed the word ‘wowsers!’ springs to mind. And while the boilersuit trend may not be to everyone’s taste, Heidi certainly deserves props for giving the bizarre concoction of a jodhpur-meets-jumpsuit a go. Plus, we reckon pulling off that hip-enhancing design ain’t easy - although having her mile-long legs probably helps! And not forgetting that magnificent quiff of hers, the tux jacket and red shoes really ups the dapper factor.
